Aston Villa Secures Marcus Rashford on Loan: What It Means for the Club
Marcus Rashford has joined Aston Villa on loan from Manchester United until the end of the 2024-2025 season. The agreement includes an option for Villa to make the transfer permanent for £40 million in the summer.
Under the terms of the loan, Aston Villa will cover at least 75% of Rashford’s £325,000-a-week salary, with performance-related bonuses potentially increasing this to 90%.
Rashford, who had been with Manchester United since the age of seven, expressed his gratitude to the club and his excitement about the new opportunity at Aston Villa. He had not featured for United since December 12, 2024, due to disagreements with manager Ruben Amorim over training attitudes.
Aston Villa, currently competing in the Champions League, aims to bolster their attacking options with Rashford’s addition. He is expected to be available for selection in their upcoming fixtures, including an FA Cup match against Tottenham.
