Remi Tinubu’s Diplomatic Visit to Former Leaders in Minna
On February 4, 2025, Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, paid courtesy visits to former military leaders General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida and General Abdulsalami Abubakar at their residences in Minna, Niger State.
Accompanied by the wife of the Vice President, Hajia Nana Shettima, Mrs. Tinubu arrived at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport in Minna at 10:30 am, where she was received by Niger State Governor Umaru Mohammed Bago and his wife, Fatima Bago.
The First Lady first visited General Babangida’s residence, engaging in a closed-door meeting that lasted approximately 35 minutes. Following this, she proceeded to the nearby home of General Abdulsalami Abubakar. General Abubakar expressed his appreciation for the visit, noting that it was “heartwarming to have the First Lady check up on my welfare.” His wife, Justice Fati Abubakar, was also present to welcome Mrs. Tinubu.
