Oshiomhole Alleges Collusion in Mineral Theft
Senator Adams Oshiomhole has reiterated his claims that some retired Nigerian generals are colluding with foreign entities to steal the country’s solid mineral resources. Oshiomhole, a former governor of Edo State and current senator, made this statement during a recent Senate session focused on addressing the challenges in Nigeria’s mining sector.
According to him, these retired generals exploit their influence and connections to facilitate illegal mining operations, allowing foreigners to cart away valuable resources such as gold, tin, and other minerals. He described the situation as not only a betrayal of national trust but also a significant drain on Nigeria’s economy.
Oshiomhole called for stricter regulations and improved monitoring of the mining sector to curb illegal activities. He also urged the government to investigate and prosecute those involved in these corrupt practices, regardless of their status or connections.
