Gang Arrested at Manchester Airport for Drug Smuggling

£8 Million Cocaine Seized at Manchester Airport

A group of American nationals was apprehended at Manchester Airport after attempting to smuggle cocaine worth £8 million into the UK. The seven individuals—five women and two men—were recruited by drug cartels and offered payments between £3,000 and £4,000 to transport 12 suitcases filled with the illicit substance.

Upon arrival, they concealed themselves in airport restrooms, awaiting the luggage’s arrival from a flight originating in Cancun, Mexico. However, security personnel became suspicious due to the rectangular shapes detected within the suitcases during X-ray screening. This led to the arrest of the couriers before they could retrieve the bags.
