Ogun Government Seals Portable’s Properties: A Plea for Support
Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has publicly appealed for prayers and support following the Ogun State government’s sealing of his uncompleted building and hotel in Sango-Ota. The properties were reportedly sealed by the Ogun State Planning and Development Authority due to alleged illegal development without the necessary approval permits.
Portable expressed his distress on social media, alleging that during the operation, over 20 individuals—including artists, customers, and those seeking assistance—were detained. He also claimed that vehicles, motorcycles, and personal belongings were confiscated, and that beverages from his Odogwu Bar and Food establishment were seized.
In his plea, Portable highlighted his contributions to the community, such as repairing roads and installing streetlights, questioning why his property, which he uses to support his family and promote local talent, was targeted. He emphasized that his establishment serves as a venue for events and shows, not merely a bar.
