TikToker SeaKing: Adeboye Demands His Freedom
Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has called for the immediate release of TikToker Olumide Ogunsanwo, popularly known as SeaKing. SeaKing was arrested for allegedly cyberbullying Pastor Adeboye following remarks he made during a live session in December 2024.
During the RCCG’s February Holy Ghost Service at the 3km by 3km auditorium in Simawa, Ogun State, Pastor Adeboye addressed the situation, stating that he had no involvement in SeaKing’s arrest. He emphasized that some individuals, angered by SeaKing’s comments, took it upon themselves to apprehend him. Pastor Adeboye remarked, “I was told that some people got so angry and went to arrest the fellow. Release him; he is fulfilling prophecy.”
This statement comes amid discussions about freedom of expression and the responsibilities of public figures in responding to criticism. Human rights activist Omoyele Sowore, who visited SeaKing in police custody, alleged that the arrest was based on a petition submitted in Pastor Adeboye’s name. However, Pastor Adeboye has clarified that he did not authorize any such action.
