Britain's Most Prolific Rapist to Be Deported to Indonesia

40-Year Sentence: Rapist’s Deportation to Indonesia

Reynhard Sinaga, identified as Britain’s most prolific rapist, is facing potential deportation to Indonesia to serve the remainder of his 40-year prison sentence. Sinaga was convicted of committing 159 sexual assaults against 48 men in Manchester between 2015 and 2017.

Originally from Indonesia, Sinaga moved to the UK in 2007 to pursue higher education. He was arrested in 2017 after one of his victims regained consciousness during an assault and reported the incident to the police. In 2020, Sinaga was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 30 years, which was later increased to 40 years following a review.

The UK government is now considering deporting Sinaga to Indonesia to serve the remainder of his sentence, a move that has sparked discussions about international prisoner transfers and the handling of foreign nationals convicted of serious crimes.
