Plateau Incident: Kidnapping of Family Sparks Outrage
On Monday, February 10, 2025, gunmen suspected to be bandits invaded Dogon Ruwa Community in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State, abducting a man, his wife, and their child. The assailants stormed the community around 11:00 AM, firing sporadically to instill fear among residents before seizing the family.
During the attack, two individuals sustained gunshot wounds and were subsequently taken to a local hospital for treatment. Following the incident, security personnel and vigilante members initiated a search operation in nearby bushes to rescue the victims and apprehend the perpetrators.
This kidnapping adds to a series of recent security challenges in Plateau State. Just last week, gunmen attacked the Shendai community in the Quaanpan Local Government Area, killing one person and abducting four others.
