Musk Unfollows West Following Anti-Semitic Remarks

Elon Musk’s Decision to Unfollow Kanye West Explained

Elon Musk, the owner of X (formerly Twitter), has unfollowed rapper Kanye West amid controversy over West’s recent antisemitic remarks. West’s posts included praise for Adolf Hitler and derogatory comments about Jewish individuals. In response to Musk’s action, West acknowledged the unfollowing and speculated about a potential ban from the platform, advising his followers to visit his personal website if that occurs.

This development follows public pressure, including calls from actor David Schwimmer, who urged Musk to take action against West’s hate speech on the platform.

West has faced multiple suspensions from X in the past due to similar behavior. In December 2022, his account was banned after he posted an image resembling a swastika inside a Star of David, which Musk labeled as “incitement to violence.” The account was reinstated in July 2023.
