Clarification on Governor Douye and Nengi’s Relationship
Recent rumors have circulated alleging that Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, is expecting a child with former Big Brother Naija star, Nengi Hampson. Both parties have publicly refuted these claims.
Nengi addressed the speculation on her X (formerly Twitter) account, stating:
“As much as I believe social media lies aren’t worth my time, I’ve come to accept that we live in a world where people are quick to spread lies without limits so let me be clear: I’m not pregnant for any governor.”
She emphasized that the rumors not only affect her but also involve individuals she holds in high regard. Nengi expressed her desire to enjoy her pregnancy in peace and wished everyone love and a happy Valentine’s weekend.
Similarly, Governor Diri, through his Director-General of New Media, Samuel Oredipe, dismissed the allegations as baseless and politically motivated. Oredipe clarified that Nengi has no personal relationship with the governor and condemned the spread of such falsehoods, especially during the administration’s fifth-anniversary celebrations.
