Armed Robber Apprehended by Police in Rivers
The Rivers State Police Command has apprehended a notorious cultist and armed robbery suspect, identified as Innocent Chigozie, during a raid in Elele community, Etche Local Government Area. Chigozie, 35, is alleged to have led a gang terrorizing farmers along Uzo Afor Road in Okahia Community.
The arrest was executed by the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit on January 30, 2025, following coordinated intelligence efforts. Recovered from the suspect were an automatic pump-action gun and two live cartridges. Chigozie is currently in police custody as investigations continue, with efforts underway to apprehend other fleeing gang members.
