Family Devastation: Ghanaian Woman and Kids Perish in Blaze
A tragic fire incident in Gyinyase, a suburb of the Asokwa Municipality in Ghana’s Ashanti Region, has claimed the lives of 33-year-old nurse Linda Agyemang and her three children, aged between 7 and 14. The fire occurred in the early hours of Saturday, February 8, 2025, trapping the family in their three-bedroom apartment.
Neighbors reported hearing the children screaming for help. One co-tenant, Owusu George, attempted to rescue them by breaking down the door but was thwarted by a loud explosion from the kitchen area, suspected to be a gas cylinder.
Firefighters arrived promptly after receiving the distress call around 4:30 am and managed to extinguish the blaze. Tragically, they discovered the victims’ charred bodies in the bathroom. The remains have been transported to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital morgue for autopsy. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
