Security Forces Detain Doctor in Katsina Incident
Security forces have recently intensified efforts against banditry in Nigeria, leading to the arrest of medical practitioners accused of aiding these criminal elements. In Katsina State, a suspect identified as Lawan Ado was apprehended for allegedly treating injured bandit leaders and their associates. In a video obtained by security analyst Zagazola Makama, Ado confessed to providing medical care to several wounded bandits.
Similarly, in Zamfara State, the police arrested a fake doctor found in possession of 441 live ammunition. Investigations revealed that he had been offering medical services to wounded bandits in the bush. He was apprehended alongside women and children en route to Anka Local Government Area, carrying live ammunition intended for delivery to bandits. Among those detained were two women identified as the wives of well-known bandit leaders, including Kachalla Jijji and Bello Kaura.
These arrests underscore the ongoing challenges in combating banditry in Nigeria, as security forces continue to target individuals and networks providing support to these criminal groups.
