Lassa fever, an acute viral hemorrhagic illness endemic to parts of West Africa, has recently claimed the lives of 12 individuals in Ondo State, Nigeria.

The state’s Ministry of Health reported that these fatalities are part of a broader outbreak affecting several local government areas.
