Durotoye’s Stand Against N5bn Contract for Leadership Training
Nigerian leadership coach and former presidential candidate, Fela Durotoye, recently recounted an incident where he declined a government contract worth N5 billion due to ethical concerns.
Speaking at the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria’s biannual conference in Abuja, Durotoye detailed how a government official, who identified as a pastor, approached him with a proposal to conduct leadership training across Nigeria’s 774 local government areas.
Upon evaluating the project, Durotoye and his team estimated a fair cost of N1.3 billion. However, the official insisted on inflating the contract to N5 billion, with the excess funds intended for personal gain. Durotoye refused the offer, emphasizing his commitment to integrity and ethical conduct.
