Militia Leader “Masters” Taken Down in Plateau Operation
In a recent operation, troops from Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) neutralized a notorious militia leader and kidnapper, Hamisu Saleh, also known as “Master,” in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State. The operation was part of ongoing efforts to combat criminal activities in the region.
Intelligence sources revealed that Saleh had been previously arrested in December 2024 for his involvement in various attacks, killings, and kidnappings in Barkin Ladi. However, he resumed his criminal activities upon release. During interrogations, Saleh confessed to multiple kidnappings and provided information about weapons hidden in various locations used for his operations.
Acting on this intelligence, a tactical team from OPSH conducted a raid in the Ropp area of Barkin Ladi on February 11, 2025. During the operation, Saleh attempted to mislead the troops by providing false information about his hideouts and weapon storage locations. Despite his efforts, the troops successfully neutralized him, thereby removing a significant threat to the local communities.
