Military Chiefs’ Visa Denial: Nuhu Ribadu’s Strong Reaction
National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu has strongly criticized the Canadian government for denying visas to Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, and other senior military officials.
The officials were scheduled to attend an event in Canada honoring war veterans, but only a portion of the delegation was granted visas, leading to frustration among Nigerian authorities.
Speaking at the inaugural annual lecture of the National Association of the Institute for Security Studies (AANISS) in Abuja, Ribadu expressed his displeasure, stating that Canada “can go to hell.” He emphasized the need for Nigeria to stand strong as a nation and not be taken for granted.
General Musa also expressed disappointment over the visa denial, noting that the delegation was invited to honor veterans injured in battle. He highlighted the importance of Nigeria’s self-reliance and resilience in the face of such challenges.
