Benue Kidnapping: Victims Break Free from Captors

Several individuals who were kidnapped on December 27, 2024, have successfully escaped from their captors in Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State. The victims endured severe hardships during their captivity, including prolonged periods without food.

Upon their escape, they were received by the Executive Chairman of Ukum LGA, Hon. Jonathan Modi, in Zaki Biam. Recognizing their fragile health conditions, Chairman Modi ensured their immediate transfer to a hospital for urgent medical care. He also condemned the actions of the abductors and emphasized the importance of peace in the community, urging residents to unite against criminal activities.

This incident underscores the ongoing security challenges in Benue State, where kidnapping has become a prevalent concern. The local government, in collaboration with state authorities, continues to implement measures aimed at enhancing security and preventing such occurrences in the future.
