Binance’s Gambaryan Faces Lie Detector Challenge from Murray-Bruce
Senator Ben Murray-Bruce has challenged Tigran Gambaryan, Binance’s Head of Financial Crime Compliance, to undergo a lie detector test regarding bribery allegations against Nigeria’s National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu.
Gambaryan, who was detained in Nigeria from February to October 2024 during a federal investigation into alleged money laundering involving Binance, claimed that three Nigerian lawmakers demanded a $150 million bribe in cryptocurrency and accused Ribadu of seeking payouts to fund his political ambitions.
The Nigerian government has dismissed these allegations as false and unsubstantiated. In defense of Ribadu, Murray-Bruce asserted his confidence in the NSA’s integrity and suggested that Gambaryan should consider himself fortunate to have been released, implying that Ribadu could have ensured his prolonged detention.
Murray-Bruce emphasized the need to address such accusations decisively to prevent the undermining of Nigeria’s reputation.
