
Arrests Made in Anambra Child Trafficking Operation
In a significant operation, the Anambra State Police Command has dismantled a child trafficking syndicate in the 3-3 area of Onitsha, leading to the arrest of three suspects and the rescue of 10 malnourished children. The suspects include Odinakachukwu Okorie, Ifunanya Ogbonna, and a fake medical doctor, Daniel Ikebuilo.
The rescued children, aged between five and eight, were found in an apartment in Inland Town, Onitsha. Investigations revealed that the suspects had plans to traffic the children to Abuja, with one child reportedly sold for ₦1 million. The police have emphasized the importance of community collaboration and intelligence gathering in combating such crimes.
