Jay-Z and Beyoncé Face Death Threats Following Legal Claims
Jay-Z and Beyoncé have faced significant distress due to false allegations and subsequent threats. In December 2024, a lawsuit was filed accusing Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl at a 2000 MTV Video Music Awards afterparty. Jay-Z vehemently denied these claims, describing them as “frivolous, fictitious, and appalling.” The lawsuit was voluntarily dismissed by the accuser in February 2025.
Despite the dismissal, the Carters have endured online harassment, including death threats. Jay-Z noted that social media users labeled him with derogatory terms and issued violent threats against him and his family. He expressed concern over the trauma inflicted upon his loved ones and criticized the legal system for permitting such unfounded accusations.
In response, Jay-Z has filed a lawsuit against the accuser’s attorney, Tony Buzbee, alleging extortion, defamation, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. He contends that Buzbee’s actions were strategically timed to cause maximum disruption, coinciding with the premiere of “Mufasa: The Lion King,” featuring Beyoncé and their daughter, Blue Ivy.
