Abuja: Afenifere Youth Council Head Taken by Gunmen
On February 17, 2025, Prince Eniola Joseph Ojajuni, the National President of the Afenifere National Youths Council, was reportedly abducted by gunmen in Abuja. During the incident, he sustained a gunshot wound to his buttock. The kidnappers have allegedly demanded a ransom of ₦100 million for his release.
However, the Yoruba Afenifere Youth Organization of Nigeria (YAYON) has refuted these claims, stating that their recognized National President, Comrade Eric Oluwole, is safe and has not been kidnapped.
YAYON’s National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Saheed Adeola, emphasized that Comrade Oluwole is the legitimate leader under the main Afenifere Elders parent body and urged the public to disregard the kidnapping reports.
