Kanye West's Shift: Rejecting Nazi Ideology

Kanye West Clarifies: No Affiliation with Nazis

Kanye West, also known as Ye, has retracted his previous statements in which he identified as a Nazi and expressed admiration for Adolf Hitler. On February 19, 2025, he posted on X (formerly Twitter), “After further reflection I’ve come to the realization that I’m not a Nazi.”

This reversal comes after a series of antisemitic and hate-filled rants earlier in February, during which West made several offensive remarks and sold T-shirts featuring a swastika logo on his Yeezy website. The site was subsequently shut down by its marketplace partner, Shopify.

In response to widespread criticism from organizations like the Anti-Defamation League and public figures including Charlie Puth and Lyor Cohen, West has faced significant backlash. Cohen, in an open letter, urged West to be more sensitive to the pain his words inflict on Jewish communities and all those who stand against hate.

Additionally, West acknowledged Adam Sandler’s performance during the “SNL50: The Anniversary Special,” where Sandler sang, “50 years of finding out your favorite musician’s antisemitic.” West responded on X, writing, “Adam Sandler Thank you for the love.”
