The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a scheduled seven-hour power outage affecting parts of Abuja on Saturday, February 22, and Sunday, February 23, 2025. The outage, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm each day, is to facilitate annual preventive maintenance on the 2x100MVA, TR3 & TR4 transformers at the Apo 132/33kV Transmission Substation.

On Saturday, areas including the National Hospital, G2 Injection Station, Garki, Area 1, and Asokoro will be affected. Sunday’s outage will impact Apo Legislative Quarters, Apo Resettlement, Gudu, Apo Mechanic, and surrounding areas. TCN’s General Manager of Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, emphasized the necessity of this maintenance to ensure optimal performance of the transformers.

Residents are advised to plan accordingly, and power supply will be restored immediately upon completion of the maintenance each day.
