Court Hearing: Accusations Against Chinese PhD Student
In a recent court case, 27-year-old Chinese PhD student Zhenhao Zou stands accused of drugging and raping ten women, recording the assaults for personal gratification. During his trial at Inner London Crown Court, Zou admitted to a preference for “timestop” pornography, a genre depicting passive and unresponsive women during sexual acts. He stated, “I like girls to be still and quiet when they are having sex.”
Zou, who was pursuing his doctorate at University College London, faces multiple charges, including 11 counts of rape, possession of extreme pornography, drug-related offenses, voyeurism, and false imprisonment. The alleged incidents occurred between 2019 and 2023, with seven purportedly taking place in China. Prosecutors have described him as a “persistent sexual predator.”
In his defense, Zou claimed that the sexual activities were consensual and involved role-playing scenarios. He acknowledged discussing “rape role-play” with one of the alleged victims, asserting that the encounters were prearranged and consensual. However, the prosecution presented video evidence showing the victims in vulnerable states, with some appearing unconscious or semi-conscious during the assaults.
The trial is ongoing, with the court examining extensive video evidence and testimonies to determine the veracity of the charges against Zou.
