
Wigged Out: 220g of Cocaine Found at Airport
In a recent incident at Cartagena’s Rafael Núñez International Airport in Colombia, a 40-year-old man was apprehended while attempting to smuggle approximately 220 grams of cocaine concealed beneath a wig.
The suspect, originating from Pereira, was preparing to board a flight to Amsterdam when anti-narcotics officers noticed his conspicuous hairstyle. Upon inspection, they discovered around a dozen packets of cocaine affixed to his scalp.
The seized narcotics have an estimated street value of about €10,000 in Europe. Authorities have transferred the individual, who has prior drug trafficking convictions, to the Attorney General’s Office for prosecution.
This case underscores the innovative yet desperate methods employed by drug traffickers and highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to curb such activities.
