Emefiele's Legal Battle Continues After Judge's Decision

Trial Against Emefiele Moves Forward Despite Legal Setback

Justice Rahman Oshodi of the Lagos State Special Offences Court has denied the recusal request in the trial of former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele.

The defense, led by Olalekan Ojo (SAN), sought the judge’s withdrawal, alleging potential bias based on prior rulings. However, Justice Oshodi dismissed these claims as unsubstantiated, stating there was no evidence warranting his recusal. Consequently, the trial will proceed under his jurisdiction.
