Multiple Victims in Shooting Near Besar Nimani Trial
A shooting incident occurred outside the Bielefeld Regional Court in Germany on February 26, 2025, during the trial of Hüseyin Akkurt, who is accused of murdering professional boxer Besar Nimani.
The attack resulted in at least four injuries, including Nimani’s brother, who sustained a leg wound, and the defendant’s father, who was critically injured with a chest wound.
Police have arrested two suspects and recovered a weapon believed to be connected to the incident. The motive behind the shooting is currently under investigation.
The trial pertains to the fatal shooting of 38-year-old Besar Nimani in March 2024, where he was ambushed and shot 16 times in Bielefeld. Akkurt was arrested in Brussels in July 2024 after a four-month manhunt and is currently facing murder charges.
