Kidnappers Neutralized: A Successful Rescue Operation

On February 23, 2025, at approximately 8:30 p.m., troops from the Nigerian Army’s 3 Division and Operation Safe Haven conducted a successful rescue operation in Gindiri, Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Acting on credible intelligence regarding the abduction of a mother and her daughter in Gindiri Town, the troops swiftly mobilized and engaged the kidnappers on the town’s outskirts. During the ensuing firefight, two kidnappers were neutralized, and another was captured with fatal injuries. The abducted mother and daughter were safely rescued without harm and subsequently taken to the Jos University Teaching Hospital (Gindiri Branch) for medical evaluation before being reunited with their family.

In a related development, on February 24, 2025, around 2:20 p.m., the same security forces arrested two notorious kidnappers and terrorists in Lugere Sho, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area. This operation, part of “Operation Golden Peace,” was based on actionable intelligence obtained from a suspect apprehended on February 22. One of the arrested individuals admitted to sustaining gunshot wounds in a previous encounter with security forces and has provided information on accomplices operating in the region.
