The Rivers State Ministry of Health has issued a stern warning against the use of detergents and other harmful chemicals in the production of ‘fufu’, a staple food in Nigeria. Recent reports indicate that some producers are adding detergents to accelerate processing and increase profits, a practice that poses significant health risks and is strictly prohibited.

Health Risks Associated with Detergent-Contaminated ‘Fufu’:
