Jose Mourinho Receives Four-Match Ban and Fine

Mourinho Fined Over £35,000 Following Racism Allegations

Fenerbahçe manager José Mourinho has been handed a four-match suspension and fined £35,000 by the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) following controversial remarks made after a goalless draw against rivals Galatasaray. In his post-match comments, Mourinho described the Galatasaray bench as “jumping like monkeys,” leading to accusations of racism from Galatasaray officials. The TFF determined that Mourinho’s statements were derogatory and could incite violence, resulting in the suspension and fine.

Mourinho’s suspension will see him miss Fenerbahçe’s upcoming league matches against Antalyaspor, Samsunspor, Bodrum, and Trabzonspor. Despite the ban, he will be eligible to coach in European competitions, including the forthcoming Europa League fixtures.

In response to the allegations, Fenerbahçe issued a statement defending Mourinho, asserting that his remarks were taken out of context and deliberately distorted. The club plans to pursue legal action against what it considers baseless accusations
