Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan's Warning to Akpabio's Wife

Stay Clear of My Allegations, Senator Advises

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has advised Mrs. Ekaette Akpabio, wife of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, to refrain from involving herself in the sexual harassment allegations she has made against her husband. In a letter dated March 1, 2025, through her lawyer Victor Giwa, Akpoti-Uduaghan emphasized that the allegations are personal to the Senate President and that he is capable of defending himself.

She stated that she possesses concrete evidence to substantiate her claims and suggested that Mrs. Akpabio’s involvement could affect her well-being and that of her family.

The dispute began when Akpoti-Uduaghan accused Senate President Akpabio of sexual harassment and intimidation, alleging that he made advances toward her and subsequently obstructed her legislative efforts after she rejected him. Mrs. Akpabio responded by holding a press conference denying the allegations and asserting that both families had maintained a cordial relationship.

In her letter, Akpoti-Uduaghan reiterated her commitment to defending Nigerian women and upholding family values, urging Mrs. Akpabio to allow her husband to address the allegations independently.
