Retired Officer’s Death: Police Dismiss Kidnapping Claims
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has refuted claims that former Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, David Shikfu Parradang, was kidnapped and murdered. According to FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, Parradang checked into a hotel around Area 3 Junction on March 3, 2025, at approximately 12:00 p.m.
He was later visited by a female guest who departed around 4:00 p.m. Concerned for his well-being, a friend, accompanied by hotel staff, discovered Parradang unresponsive in his room in the early hours of March 4. The police were notified, and the scene was secured for investigation. The body has been transferred to the National Hospital for necessary procedures, and efforts are ongoing to identify and locate the female visitor.
Initial reports had suggested that Parradang was abducted and killed by kidnappers in Abuja.
However, the FCT Police have dismissed these claims, clarifying that there is no evidence supporting the kidnapping narrative. The public is advised to refrain from spreading unverified information that could incite fear or panic.
Parradang served over 30 years in public service, holding various positions across Nigeria, including Kano, Lagos, Kwara, Enugu, and the Federal Capital Territory. He was recognized with the national honor of Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR) and was a distinguished graduate of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS).
