Ramadan Working Hours Reduced for Jigawa Civil Servants
Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has approved a reduction in official working hours for civil servants during the 2025 Ramadan fast. According to the directive, civil servants will now work from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. from Monday to Thursday, instead of the usual 5:00 p.m. closing time. On Fridays, work hours will be from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., in line with existing practice.
The adjustment aims to ease the burden on civil servants, allowing them more time to prepare for iftar and actively participate in the spiritual activities of Ramadan. The government hopes that civil servants will use this period to pray for God’s guidance and blessings for the state and the country in general.
Similarly, Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has approved a reduction in official working hours for civil servants during the holy month of Ramadan. Civil servants in Kebbi will now work from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. from Monday to Thursday, and from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Fridays. Normal working hours will resume after Ramadan.
These adjustments are intended to provide opportunities for civil servants to fully engage in the spiritual activities associated with the holy month.
