PETROAN and IPMAN Predict Upcoming Fuel Price Drops

Fuel Price Reductions Ahead: PETROAN and IPMAN’s Message

Nigerians can anticipate further reductions in petrol prices as competition intensifies between the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and Dangote Refinery. Both the Petroleum Retailers Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) and the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) have expressed optimism regarding this trend.

Recently, NNPCL reduced its petrol pump price to N860 per litre in Lagos and Abuja, aligning with Dangote Refinery’s earlier adjustment to N880 per litre at partner outlets, including MRS filling stations.

Dr. Billy Gillis-Harry, National President of PETROAN, lauded these reductions, highlighting the relief they bring to Nigerians facing economic challenges. He emphasized that such competition benefits consumers and is a positive outcome of market dynamics.

Similarly, IPMAN’s Public Relations Officer, Chief Chinedu Ukadike, attributed the price drop to the strengthening of the naira and declining international crude oil prices. He noted that increased supply and competition between NNPCL and Dangote Refinery have led to these favorable conditions, benefiting both consumers and independent marketers.
