Fire Erupts from Gas Cooker, Destroys Kwara Building

Kwara Building Reduced to Ashes by Gas Cooker Fire

On Wednesday, March 5, 2025, an unattended gas cooker ignited a fire that severely damaged a 20-room building in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State.

The incident occurred around 1:53 pm at No. 90 Koro Compound, Oke-Apomu quarters. Firefighters responded promptly, managing to save 13 rooms while seven were destroyed.

No injuries were reported. The Kwara State Fire Service confirmed that the fire resulted from the unattended gas cooker and urged the public to prioritize fire safety to prevent such incidents.
