
R. Kelly Sings on Podcast from Prison
Despite being incarcerated, R. Kelly recently participated in the “Inmate Tea with A&P” podcast, where he showcased his enduring musical talent. During the interview, he performed snippets of his songs “When a Woman’s Fed Up” and “Step in the Name of Love.”
He expressed that singing is an “incurable beautiful disease,” indicating his continued passion for music. Kelly also revealed that he has written approximately 25 albums since his imprisonment and is focusing on “using patience as a tactic” while working towards his release.
Currently, R. Kelly is serving a 30-year sentence for federal racketeering and sex trafficking convictions, with an additional 20-year sentence for federal sex crimes in Chicago, to be served concurrently.
His attorney, Jennifer Bonjean, stated that Kelly remains in good spirits and is determined to continue fighting for his freedom through the appeals process.
