Outrage Over Killing of Priest in Kaduna, US Mission States

The United States Mission in Nigeria has expressed deep distress over the brutal killing of Reverend Father Sylvester Okechukwu in Kaduna State.

Father Okechukwu, who served at St. Mary Catholic Church in Tachira, Kaura Local Government Area, was abducted from his residence on Tuesday night by suspected bandits, and his body was discovered the following day.

In a statement released on Friday, the U.S. Mission condemned the horrific act of violence, extending its deepest condolences to Father Okechukwu’s family, congregation, and community.

The Mission emphasized the immeasurable loss suffered and called on Nigerian authorities to ensure that those responsible are held accountable.
