Xavier Worthy of Chiefs Arrested for Domestic Violence Allegations

Kansas City Chiefs’ Worthy Faces Legal Issues Over Arrest

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy was arrested on March 7, 2025, in Georgetown, Texas, on a felony domestic violence charge. The charge alleged assault by impeding the breathing or circulation of a family or household member. Worthy, 21, was held without bail at the Williamson County jail.

However, on March 8, 2025, the Williamson County District Attorney declined to pursue charges against Worthy, leading to his release from custody. District Attorney Shawn Dick stated that, after speaking with multiple witnesses, the case would not move forward at this time.

Worthy’s attorneys, Sam Bassett and Chip Lewis, have maintained his innocence, asserting that the accusation stemmed from a personal dispute. They expressed confidence that further investigation would support Worthy’s innocence.

The Kansas City Chiefs have acknowledged the incident and are gathering more information. The NFL is also monitoring the situation.

Worthy, a first-round draft pick in 2024, recently completed his rookie season and played in the 2025 Super Bowl.
