
Police Seize Weapons and Cash from Bandits in Kano
On March 8, 2025, the Kano State Police Command successfully apprehended four individuals suspected of engaging in banditry.
The suspects—Shukurana Salihu (25), Rabi’u Dahiru (35), Ya’u Idris (30), and Muktar Sani (30)—were detained at Chula Filling Station in Hotoro Quarters, Kano, while allegedly attempting to procure an AK-47 rifle.
A subsequent search yielded the following items:
- Three locally made revolver pistols
- Twelve live rounds of various calibers
- Three cartridges
- Two cutlasses
- Four knives
- Twenty-four ball bearings
- Cash totaling ₦1,028,800
The suspects are currently undergoing investigation at the Command’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and will face legal proceedings upon completion of the inquiry.
This operation underscores the Kano State Police Command’s dedication to combating banditry and maintaining public safety within the region.
