Pastor Adeboye Reflects on Near-Death Experience

A Christmas in Bed: Pastor Adeboye’s Life-Altering Moment

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), recently recounted a near-death experience from seven years ago during the church’s annual “Let’s-Go-A-Fishing” evangelism program. He shared that his health deteriorated severely due to the strenuous travel conditions on poor roads, leading to his collapse in Ilesa, Osun State. This incident resulted in him spending Christmas Day bedridden for the first time in his life.

To ensure his safety and prompt medical attention, a helicopter was chartered to transport him back to the RCCG camp on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. However, the evacuation faced challenges as some individuals attempted to prevent the helicopter from taking off, causing damage to one of its windows. Despite these obstacles, Pastor Adeboye emphasized that divine intervention played a crucial role in his survival.

Reflecting on this ordeal during the church’s annual Special Holy Ghost Service themed “Joy Unspeakable,” Pastor Adeboye expressed profound gratitude for his recovery and continued health. He urged the congregation to join him in thanking God for sparing his life, highlighting the importance of acknowledging and appreciating divine protection and grace.
