No Sleepless Nights for APC Over El-Rufai’s Exit
Nasir El-Rufai, the former Governor of Kaduna State and a founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has announced his defection to the Social Democratic Party (SDP). He expressed intentions to rally opposition leaders nationwide to challenge the APC in upcoming elections through this strategic move.
In response, the Kaduna State chapter of the APC stated that El-Rufai’s departure does not perturb them, emphasizing their commitment to securing victories for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani in the 2027 elections.
Similarly, Shehu Sani, a former senator from Kaduna State, commented that El-Rufai’s exit is inconsequential, attributing it to uncertainties about the future.
