The Breakdown of Dele Momodu and Wike’s Relationship
Dele Momodu, a prominent journalist and politician, recently discussed the reasons behind his estrangement from Nyesom Wike, the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and former Governor of Rivers State.
In an episode of “The Honest Bunch” podcast, Momodu revealed that their relationship deteriorated after he informed Wike of his intention to run for the presidency. He noted that Wike, who was also nurturing presidential ambitions at the time, reacted negatively and ceased communication with him.
Momodu observed that Wike had been heavily investing in media publicity, leading him to suspect Wike’s own presidential aspirations. When Momodu sought Wike’s support for his candidacy, Wike became unresponsive and made disparaging remarks about Momodu in subsequent media interviews.
Reflecting on the situation, Momodu expressed disappointment over how political ambitions and power dynamics affected their friendship, highlighting how money and power can change relationships.
