Police Detain Five Suspects in Rivers Stadium Murder

The Rivers State Police Command has arrested five individuals suspected of involvement in the kidnapping and subsequent murder of the Chief Security Officer (CSO) of the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Jeminiwa Richard Timothy, and his son, Silas. The suspects were apprehended following a coordinated operation in the Rukpokwu, Igwuruta, Omagwa, and Etche areas on March 8, 2025, which lasted approximately eight hours.

The arrested individuals have been identified as:

  • Mohammadu Bello, 30, from Padiki Local Government Area (LGA), Kwara State;
  • Suleman Umar, 26, from Hadeja LGA, Jigawa State;
  • Bello Amadu, 35, from Keffi-Hausa LGA, Jigawa State;
  • Adamu Musa, 30, from Hadeja LGA, Jigawa State;
  • Abubakar Mohammed, 22, from Azare LGA, Bauchi State.

During the operation, law enforcement recovered significant items from the suspects, including two AK-47 rifles, six AK-47 magazines, 66 rounds of ammunition, three locally made pistols, 10 live cartridges, several mobile phones, and SIM cards.

The suspects have reportedly confessed to multiple kidnapping activities, notably the tragic killing of the stadium’s CSO and his son. They are currently in police custody, cooperating with investigators as efforts continue to uncover further details of their criminal activities and apprehend additional members of the syndicate.
