Enugu University Student’s Life Cut Short by Violence

In a tragic incident in Enugu State, Nigeria, 29-year-old Donatus Ndubuisi, a student at the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) and an only child, was killed by Fulani herdsmen.

On February 28, 2025, Ndubuisi was assisting his widowed mother in harvesting cassava on their farm in Amofia Umuhu Eha-Amufu when they were ambushed. His mother survived the attack.

This incident is particularly devastating as Ndubuisi’s father had previously been killed by the same herdsmen, leaving his mother to raise him alone. The community has expressed outrage over the persistent violence, leading to protests demanding justice and increased security measures.

The funeral of Donatus Ndubuisi was held amidst tears and sorrow, highlighting the profound loss experienced by his mother and the community.
