Wendy Williams Hospitalized After Disturbing Incident

Ambulance Responds to Wendy Williams’ Urgent Plea for Help

On March 10, 2025, former talk show host Wendy Williams was taken from her New York City assisted living facility to a hospital following a distressing incident. Williams reportedly dropped a handwritten note from her fifth-floor window that read “Help! Wendy!!”, prompting a wellness check by the New York Police Department (NYPD). Officers escorted her to an ambulance, and she was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation.

Williams has been under legal guardianship since May 2022 due to reported cognitive impairments, including a diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia (FTD) and aphasia in early 2024. She has contested these diagnoses, asserting that she is mentally sound and expressing feelings of being confined in the assisted living facility, which she has described as a “luxury prison.”

Following the incident, Williams underwent a psychiatric evaluation and reportedly scored perfectly on a capacity test, indicating her mental state is intact. These results are expected to be reviewed by a judge who will consider terminating her guardianship. Williams has been actively seeking to end the guardianship, claiming she is capable of managing her own affairs.

The situation has raised concerns about the conditions of her guardianship and the quality of care she is receiving. Her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, has reportedly requested a new medical evaluation following Williams’ complaints about her treatment and the lack of proper medical care since her dementia diagnosis.
