In 2024, China and India solidified their positions as Nigeria’s leading import partners, contributing a combined total of N20.31 trillion to the nation’s imports.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), China’s exports to Nigeria amounted to N14.14 trillion, while India’s exports totaled N6.17 trillion.
The majority of imports from China encompassed electronics, machinery, textiles, and industrial equipment, essential components for Nigeria’s manufacturing and technology sectors. India’s exports primarily consisted of pharmaceuticals, industrial raw materials, and processed food products.
Overall, Nigeria’s imports for 2024 reached N37.59 trillion, with other significant contributors including:
- United States: N4.07 trillion
- Netherlands: N2.31 trillion
- France: N1.65 trillion
- Brazil: N1.36 trillion
- Spain: N1.47 trillion
- Germany: N1.26 trillion
