Buhari Approved El-Rufai’s Departure from APC
Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has stated that he consulted with former President Muhammadu Buhari before leaving the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
El-Rufai mentioned that he visited Buhari at his Kaduna residence on a Friday to inform him of his decision, emphasizing that he regularly seeks Buhari’s counsel on major decisions.
In response, Buhari reaffirmed his membership in the APC, expressing his commitment to the party and stating, “I am an APC member and I like to be addressed as such.”
