Isaiah Stokes Convicted: Faces 25 Years to Life in Prison

Law & Order Star Isaiah Stokes: Murder Conviction Details

Isaiah Stokes, an actor known for his roles in television series such as “Law & Order: SVU,” “Blue Bloods,” and “Power,” has been convicted of second-degree murder and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon. The conviction stems from the February 7, 2021, shooting of Tyrone Jones in Queens, New York.

The incident traces back to October 2020, when Stokes and Jones had a physical altercation at Jones’ birthday party. Stokes was reportedly expelled from the event due to inappropriate behavior toward female guests.

Seeking revenge, Stokes placed a GPS tracking device on Jones’ vehicle on January 29, 2021. Using this device, he tracked Jones’ location and, on February 7, 2021, approached Jones’ parked Jeep Grand Cherokee in Queens. Stokes fired 11 shots into the vehicle, resulting in Jones’ death at the scene.

Following a two-week jury trial, Stokes, 45, was found guilty of the charges. He faces a sentence of 25 years to life in prison, with sentencing scheduled for March 21, 2025.

Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz commented on the case, stating, “This was a calculated murder. The defendant, a part-time actor, stewed for months after being thrown out of a birthday party for his own inappropriate behavior.” She emphasized the commitment to combating gun violence and prosecuting those who perpetrate such crimes.

Stokes’ acting career includes appearances in several notable television series, but this conviction marks a significant and tragic turn in his personal and professional life.
