US-Iraqi Forces Eliminate ISIS Leader: Trump’s Response
Abdallah Maki Muslih al-Rifai, also known as “Abu Khadija,” the Chief of Global Operations and second-in-command of ISIS, was killed in a precision airstrike conducted by U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces in western Iraq on Thursday.
The operation, executed in collaboration with Iraqi national intelligence and security forces, targeted al-Rifai in Al Anbar province. Upon securing the site, forces discovered two bodies, including al-Rifai’s, both wearing unexploded suicide vests and in possession of multiple weapons. DNA tests confirmed al-Rifai’s identity.
President Donald Trump addressed the operation on his Truth Social platform, stating that “the fugitive leader of ISIS in Iraq was killed.”
Al-Rifai’s death represents a significant setback for ISIS, disrupting its global logistics, planning, and financial operations. The successful operation underscores the ongoing commitment of U.S. and Iraqi forces to dismantle ISIS leadership and maintain regional stability.
